Fabulous Fantasy Romance for February

I'm a huge fan of Science Fiction & Fantasy.  Mix it with romance and you've got a definite winner in my book.  And I'm THRILLED that this month we've got an embarrassment of riches in terms of new releases by my favorite authors in this wonderful genre.

The latest in her GhostWalker series, Viper Game by Christine Feehan is out now.  I remember not being sure about this series when I read the first book, but I've been hooked since the second and it's a go-to re-read series for me as well, which says a lot.  Feehan understand not only how to build characters that are larger than life but relatable in a world that is just close enough to reality we wonder at the possibilities.

GhostWalker Wyatt Fontenot knows the price he paid for the secret military experiments that gave him his special catlike abilities. After all, he left his bayou home a healer and came back a killer. While Wyatt and his GhostWalker brother Gator may have known exactly the sort of game they were getting into, Wyatt never anticipated where it would lead—or to whom.

Overcome (Breeds) by Lora Leigh ~ I read my first book (a novella actually) by Lora Leigh while judging the RITA contest many years ago. I fell in love with her writing and her Breeds (most of which had only been released from Ellora's Cave at that point) and I've been a huge fan ever since. If you missed any of these novellas (or if like me, you like having all your series books together on the same shelf or in the same digital collection), it's absolutely worth getting this single author anthology.

The #1 New York Times bestselling author of Bengal's Quest ignites the most dangerous instincts known to man, woman, and beast in these Breed novellas, collected in one volume for the first time.

Born of Fury (A League Novel) Sherrilyn Kenyon ~ I'm not sure I remember which was the first book I ever read by Sherrilyn Kenyon, I only know that after reading it, I read everything else I could get my hands on by her.  She is a master craftsman at world building and creating an entire series of characters you can't help but care deeply about.  Her stories are sensual and emotional and they always tear at my heartstrings.  I've probably cried more reading her than any other author, which only makes the victorious resolutions she gives her characters all the more satisfying.

“[A] publishing phenomenon . . . [Sherrilyn Kenyon is] the reigning queen of the wildly successful paranormal scene . . . Just one example of arguably the most in-demand and prolific authors in America these days.” —Publishers Weekly

Now, for a couple of authors on my "have always wanted to read" list, suggested by some of my own favorite authors:

The City: A Novel by Dean Koontz

A young boy, a musical prodigy, discovering life’s wonders—and mortal dangers. His best friend, also a gifted musician, who will share his journey into destiny. His remarkable family, tested by the extremes of evil and bound by the depths of love . . . on a collision course with a band of killers about to unleash anarchy. And two unlikely allies, an everyday hero tempered by the past and a woman of mystery who holds the key to the future.

These are the people of The City...

Burned by Karen Marie Moning

“A masterwork by an incomparable writer. Burned is brilliant, sexy, and dangerous. I adore Moning! No one does it better.”—#1 New York Timesbestselling author Sylvia Day

I've actually got several Karen Marie Moning books on my TBR shelves (both in print and digital).  I keep wanting to read her books and getting sidetracked by authors I already read, but I've heard too much good stuff about her work to keep them on the TBR pile forever. :)
